I'm taking a Time Out from the foolish production schedule I've set for myself. Easy to say, " Never again." Not so much in practice. The challenge is to cultivate the process while still plowing the productivity.
Spring was a heady stream of productivity and show entries. Summer, the same. Falling into Autumn's Prize. Michael Miller's Challenge gnawing. Project Paprika's clock ticking. And all the other million bits.
Last week, driving, I saw something begging to be photographed. I've been by this site so many times, but had never truly seen its beauty and whimsy. No time to stop. Several days later, same experience in another part of Akron. Running to appointment, no time for pics.
With the focus on Production, I missed the Process. Photography is an integral part of my creative process. Yet, I'd pushed it aside for the quilting? Marginalized.
Snowing and slushing, today is not conducive to tramping about, camera in hand. Instead, I'm cleaning the camera and lenses. Charging batteries. Listing sites and potential images. Reality is frequently so much better than our mere plans.
Watch what develops.
