Some rules are begging to be broken. Arbitrary. Illogical. Nonsensical. That's how I approach Making: If It's Stupid, Bust It!
I tried reallllllly hard to be a good Do- Bee and follow the instructions for a set of curved pieced blocks. I dutifully made the six blocks, per Eva. And I hated all of it. Maybe it was the use of Orphan Uglies from the fabric stash. Mauve and peach are not my thing. Perhaps is was the appallingly not square finished blocks mocking me?
I dunno. I hated it. All of it.
Few days in Exile, inspiration struck.
"When in doubt, cut it up!"
Silly me cut circles from the offending blocks and hand appliquéd to the field using fine silk threads. Machine quilted ' in the ditch". Maybe one day I'll return to quilt the field in shimmery silver threads. That day is not today. Needs more time in Exile.
I've got Zombies to tend to.
