Long time, no post.
So, way, back in April, I was piddling around with purses and gilded pleather. Not so much, now. The studio renovation didn't happen, either. Other, better, stuff did occur.
Magical and amazing things.
Super Sugar Honeycomb was juried into Artists of Rubber City 25th Anniversary Exhibit at Box Gallery. It was the only textile piece accepted. A solid work. Excellent craftsmanship. Heavily hand quilted.
In the Midnight Garden juried into Akron Art Prize' 15. Currently on exhibit at Artwalls 43. Art Prize is a very cool app- based geo- fenced viewer voting competition. Awesome opportunities to meet and greet and foster collaboration. The quilt is large at 69" square; made for my son's girlfriend. How long did it take to finish? Longer than their relationship lasted. Also heavily hand quilted. It is for sale.
Michael Miller Fabric Glitz Challenge. Accepted into the Micheal Miller Fabric Glitz Challenge for QuiltCon16. Work in Progress. Don't know whether it will be accepted to QuiltCon16 exhibit, but it has inspired a new, exciting direction in my work. Will share, later.
Rats! Added a pair of domesticated rodents to the House of Mayhem. Pretty cute Russian Blue Hooded boys who reside in the Rat-Mahal, the multilevel mega rat house on wheels. Never thought we'd be Rat People. Long road to Socialization and Trust, for all. Surprisingly cat-like creatures: claws; similar fur texture; long silky tails; preference for jingle /crinkle toys and boxes; and hoarding treasures. Expect the boys to make cameos on the site.
More, later....gotta make up productivity for the weekend!
