I'm not gonna lie. Things, here, have have been a delicious, anxiety provoking mix of amazing and terrifying. So many wonderful professional bits I really can not yet share. But, soon. And the usual and customary challenges parenting Young Adults navigating their way in halting fits and starts.
Thus, I have not really been able to hit the road lens leading, for several weeks. When there was time, the weather was not cooperative. Quandary.
To keep the content on the Instagram ( @colormodern) fresh and interesting, pulled from the archive of Not Quites and Truly Terrible images. Looking for a means to salvage the ugly and perhaps raise ( raze?) them to Mediocrity.
Digging deep, found a potentially interesting image of a wicked bruise to a bog birch tree's bark. I know it's a " bruise" because I asked my son, the soon to be Arborist. Connections, ya know?
The image had great color, clarity, and sharpness, but was otherwise boring. Yawn.
Opted to play with it in the editing.
And this is what I came up with.
I rather like it! A stark departure from what I'd been doing. It has lovely texture, color, and detail akin to Indian paisleys. Bonus is the center resembles Hindi statuary!
Cool imagery aside, it was fun to simply PLAY. No intended purpose. No deadline. No guidelines. Just a creative endeavor, free of obligation.
Need more of that.
