Lately, I've made an effort to give up semblance of control. There is none. To try to force that which is not creates stress and hinders the Natural Order.
It's a lesson I've long been resistant to learn.
I don't know whether it's a bad case of American Exceptionalism or Anxiety- Driven Control Freak. At some point, Root Cause Analysis becomes paralysis. No forward motion. So caught up in the search for answers and blame that one cannot move on and develop.
I created this image by reviewing the Archive of Not Quites and playing with them to unearth any iota of potential. Potential must be recognized and nurtured to fruition. It's a Process. One that I frequently did not have the patience or persistence to develop.
Obvious Beauty is easy. it clamors and shouts. Yet, I wonder whether Obvious Beauty grandiosity has any substance? Perhaps, the Subtle Quiet has more value? Is more deserving of our attention?
The piece was a nice, though uninspiring shot of the bog and leaves. High reflections and bold color and texture, but overall, 'meh'. Editing it and shifting perspective revealed it's potential. The final image, above, is loaded with subtle layers of imagery and context revealed. It works in many rotations and perspectives. A fun game of " What do you see?"
It was waiting patiently in the Archive to be discovered. It's Contributions appreciated.
