Arno Rafael Minkkinen's "Helsinki Bus Station Theory", in action.
The idea is that, initially, we all plod along the same path, but diverge at different points. And some will find the path not to be where we need to be for our journey, so we return to the bus station to begin, again. And again. Always chasing a different route. But, to develop true Mastery, one should apply what one has learned to one's earlier work. Go back. Rewrite. Revise. Edit it. In the doing, one will develop a distinct voice.
Following that, I've been revisiting mediocre earlier work to....rework and revise.
A week into this and the results are intriguing.
I really like the new- old pieces.
Not an either or. A continuum.
