Much of my Modern Botanical artwork is created with textiles in mind. I love fibers and fabrics! Once up on a time, I wanted to be either an architect or fashion designer. Maybe both. Sewing many of my own garments ( impeccable fit, better quality, and individuality), I fell in love with imported French digitally printed modern floral yardage.
So, I create Modern Botanicals as potentially applied art. What fabrics would I like to sew? What prints would I like to wear? Or live with? It became an ongoing thread in Instagram comments, " This would be great fabric!". From your mouth to God's ears.
VIDA appraoched me to collaborate on a custom print on demand collection of clothing and fashion accessories, including men's pocket squares! Love pocket squares!
The process required leveling-up of my skill set and critiquing my work in a new manner. How will this image play? What is the print orientation on the garment? Resolution? Will this print and item play well with other pieces customer already own? Price points? Quality?
And, Would I buy it and wear it?
Young adult fashionista son saw the in-progress Collection drafts, " I'll wear that!"
